Since Rei Kawakubo's arival from Japan 20 years ago, she has challenged Western ideals of body shape and garment construction and use of colours. Kawakubo describes her philosophy being freedom and quoted, 'it is clear to me that creativity becomes harder. But I have to continue, I dont belive I have achieved all I can yet.'

Art to brighten your room and mood

When looking at a piece of art, it creates a type of mood. Whether its tence, energetic or dreary. Grace Hartigan however adds colour and lighting to enhance the feel of the viewer. She is one of the most inpirational artist who i have come across that has effectively achieves this.Its almost as if the swirls and shapes create a sort of dancing effect. Hartigan first gained her reputation as part of the New York School of artists and painters during the 1940s and '50s.

When i first saw these pictures, in my eyes the model stood out against the over-sized bull. Pulling off the three dimentional clothing adding a structural appearance. Over exagerrated hips and up to the knee calf skinned boots, i feel this could be the new craze for spring 2011.
